Rick, I recognize your bus now. I was parked next to us at Junebug this year. That's my wife's Highroof Vanagon in the pic.

Oh that's right...Maybe if I would have been a better neighbor at the show, I would have recognized you when I bought the apron. You gonna camp in the highroof again this year?

Rick,
Are you planning on painting yourself?
Are you using a base/clear or a single stage?
I plan to paint my '65 this summer myself but have never done it before.
Please post detailed info on the bodywork/prep/filler/prime/paint if you can.
Mine won't be a super shinny custom job I just want it equal to what the factory put out in '65.
Waves, runs, shotty tape lines and all.
Thanks,
Roy

It will be base/clear and I will not be doing the painting. I do prefer the single stage over the base/clear but that's another topic. This body shop has now painted 4 cars for me over the last 20 years and I have been more than satisfied with all of them.

I did do most the metal work but needed a real Dr to fix my scabs.

If you like I will forward info on the bodywork/prep/filler/prime/paint. I plan to pick it up this Friday as they are going to shoot it tomorrow. I plan to post more pics soon.

Yeah we usually camp in it a lot. However it's currently down as the wasserboxer heads are leaking. I'm planning on converting it to a 1.8 inline 4 jetta engine.
